DIESEL POWER TECHNOLOGY

BECOME A DIESEL MECHANIC

Do you enjoy solving mechanical problems, working with cutting-edge technology, and understanding how things work? Are you ready to gain skills for a career in one of the most in-demand fields? If so, our Diesel Power Technology program is the perfect fit for you!

This 2-year half-day program provides students with hands-on training in a live diesel repair shop, working with real customers and real equipment. Guided by experienced professionals, students explore key systems and skills, including diesel engines, fuel injection, electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and preventive maintenance.

Students will also gain expertise in advanced engine overhaul techniques, tractor-trailer truck maintenance, and construction equipment repair. The program integrates theory-based lectures, field trips, and computer-based learning to ensure students understand both the mechanics and technology behind the equipment.

Qualified second-year students can apply for cooperative work experiences with local industry partners, gaining valuable real-world experience and building connections in the field. Leadership opportunities through Skills USA are also a key part of the program, helping students develop the soft skills needed to excel in the workforce.
